Welcome to BBDiet Dietitian Services. You have received our message because you have been referred by your GP or medical specialist for dietitian support.

At BBDiet Dietitian Services, we are dedicated to helping you achieve your health and nutrition goals through personalised, evidence-based care. Our team of expert dietitians is here to support you on your journey toward better health, whether you’re managing a medical condition, seeking dietary advice, or simply wanting to build a healthier relationship with food.
Why do I need to see a dietitian? You likely have been referred to a dietitian because you suffer from a chronic condition, such as high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, pre-diabetes or diabetes, fatty liver disease or other health conditions that could be improved or controlled with positive diet modifications. A dietitian provides you with evidence-based information on how to best manage your conditions using everyday foods that you eat.
What do a dietitian do? An Accredited Practicing Dietitian is a recognised professional who have the qualifications and expertise to provide individual nutrition and dietary advice tailored to your medical condition. They are regulated by Dietitians Australia to provide evidence-base and ethical care to patients. In the era where food and nutrition information are available to everyone, a dietitian can guide you to the information that is relevant and safe for you, and develop a personalized plan that works for your specific needs, preferences and conditions.
How does Medicare referrals work? If you suffer from a chronic condition, your GP may refer you through a care plan (e.g. Enhanced Primary Care Plan*, Eating Disorder Plan). If that is the case, you can get a rebate for your appointment under the Medicare initiative. You will need to pay for your appointment in full, and then we will submit a claim to Medicare on your behalf. The rebates ($60.35 per appointment) should be deposited to your linked bank account with Medicare in 1-2 days upon submission of the claim. You may discuss your eligibility for this referral with your GP. *Enhanced Primary Care Plan covers up to 5 allied health appointments per calendar year. If you have used up your entitled five appointments, your claim may be rejected by Medicare. You do not need a referral to see a dietitian. We also accept patients under private, DVA or NDIS referrals.
Our appointment options
Congratulations for taking the first step to better health!
BBDiet is a team of passionate dietitians who services a range of locations based in the Brisbane and Gold Coast areas.
We offer two types of appointments depending on your individual preferences and needs.
Standard Appointments
Suitable if you:
- Just need some minor guidance. You are mostly on-track and knows what to do.

- Are undecided on what you would like, and just want to have some initial input.

- Would like to get some assistance on your diet with a more affordable rate.
What does a standard appointment include? - 20mins 1:1 dietitian consult - Essential assessment on your baseline diet and lifestyle - Initial strategies to get you started - Discounted initial meal plan (optional, as required) - Bulk-billed options available for pension card holders / individual with financial hardships - Smaller out-of-pocket fee for non-pensioners
Extended Appointments
Suitable if you:
- Are motivated to make lasting changes and are keen to see better results.

- Would like comprehensive support and get insights into your hormonal health, gut health, psychological or emotional barriers that may affect your eating habits and wellbeing.

- Are struggling with complex health conditions and need comprehensive guidance to get back on your feet.

- Are recently diagnosed with a new condition and would like to know how to eat well to manage it, or prevent it from getting worse.
What does an extended appointment include? - 60mins 1:1 dietitian consult - Detailed assessment on your previous and current diet and lifestyle, including any additional areas that could affect your health (e.g. gut health, hormonal health, psychological barriers to eating well) - More comprehensive and personalised plan to help you address your health conditions - Understand how to work with, not against your body - Free complimentary meal-plan to get you started - Higher out-of-pocket fee compared to standard appointments
Do I have an out-of-pocket fee if I have my GP's care plan? We became mixed-billing in 2025 to help with our increased admin and overhead costs. Therefore, we do have a small gap fee applied to non-pensioners. With that said, we believe healthcare should be accessible, so we are more than happy to discuss reduced fee rates or potentially bulk-bill non-pensioners depending on your personal circumstances. Please call 07 3067 7280 to enquire.
Tip: Your initial appointment is the most important session.

Our patients tends to see better results even if they only have an extended appointment for the initial, and the standard appointment for reviews. The longer sessions allow our dietitian team to have more time to dive deep into addressing and discussing many of your barriers and underlying issues that may affect your health conditions, your eating behaviours and patterns, food choices, and your relationship with foods.

For standard sessions, we will be prioritising on the specific areas that you need more support on, so that you could get as much nutrition support possible within the 20 min session.

For best results, at least 2-3 extended appointments will be highly beneficial. Extended appointments enables good amount of time for your dietitian to provide comprehensive education and guidance, and target your barriers accordingly.
