Frequently Asked Questions
-
How does Medicare / Private / DVA rebates work?
Medicare
If you suffer from a chronic condition, your GP may refer you through a care plan (e.g. Enhanced Primary Care Plan*, Eating Disorder Plan). If that is the case, you can get a rebate for your appointment under the Medicare initiative. You will need to pay for your appointment in full, and then submit a claim to Medicare to access rebates of $60.35 per session. You may discuss your eligibility for this referral with your GP.
*Enhanced Primary Care Plan covers up to five allied health appointments per calendar year. If you have used up your entitled five appointments, your claim may be rejected by Medicare.
Private
Most private health providers will provide dietitian rebates for individual appointments. The amount will depend on your cover. Please contact your health fund to check your entitlements. No referral is needed to see us when claiming with private health.
DVA
We are a provider for the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). We provide bulk-billed appointments for all DVA clients. Please visit your GP for a DVA referral to access DVA-funded services.
-
How do I know which type of appointment is suitable for me?
We generally suggest having an extended appointment (especially your very first appointment) for more comprehensive support and better results. However, it all depends on your health needs, goals, and of course your budget. If you are keen for an extended appointment but is currently experiencing financial hardships, or am unsure which option is the most suitable, you are more than welcome to contact us for a friendly chat to discuss your options.
Or call us at 07 3060 7280 or email admin@bbdiet.com.au (:
Payment policy:
Full payment will be collected at the end of your appointment. You will receive a receipt upon successful payment to enable rebates processing with Medicare or your Private fund. You will be asked to store your payment method (credit card or Paypal) in our secure clinical system at the time of booking.
Our practitioners will be not be able to access your credit card details, shall you choose credit card as your default payment method. You will not be charged outside of your appointment unless for a late-cancellation fee (see our policies below). We will inform you of any outstanding payments before any fee is being charged.
Cancellation policy:
We require 48 hours notice if you are unable to attend an appointment.
Failure to attend an appointment is unfair to other patients, and takes up our dietitian's time unnecessarily. If you do not attend an appointment and have not provided 48 hours notice, you will be charged full fee of the appointment.
We do understand short notice is unavoidable in some circumstances. Discretion will be exercised on a case-to-case basis.
If you need to reschedule an appointment, please contact us at 07 3060 7280 or email admin@bbdiet.com.au to avoid late cancellation / non-attendance fees.
